I've found the answers and they weren't pleasent =\
BLOCKS

The blocks: Two sets, one that ebbs and flows over various abilities, another that completely bars certain paths. Also, when I try to direct a focus of any measurable amount of energy, they all pool together to make sure that my attempt is promply stomped out. That's becuase they are *semi-sentient* blocks. Of course.
Why: Well, I didn't do anything that i'm being punished for. That's the good thing. The bad is that my actively harassing party doesn't like my knowledge and skills want me dead.
So a "$*%^ !!!!!" to all, and to all a good night.
