So... I started playing Final Fantasy 12: Revenant Wings this morning. I wasn't really expecting anything, considering that my only Final Fantasy experience was a total fail at 8 four or so years ago.
It started out okay and the little tutorial helped. Well, it would be kinda stupid, more or less, if they didn't have that and made you figure out how to move and stuff by yourself. =P I'd have been lost. Anyway, I actually rather like how the system is; selecting the character you want, then either tapping a blank spot to move and/or tapping on an enemy to have them fight. The directional pad is mainly for the 'camera' so you need to do the select and tap for walking. It's even better when you have two or more characters you want to move to the same spot. Just select them like you would a group of folders/icons on your computer and then tap where you want them to go.
I also like how since you play as Vaan and after you find Penelo, when you fight, Penelo automatically heals you without you having to do anything. =D Yay! The tutorial also said that I could just select Penelo, then tap on who I want her to heal. Pretty good. Haven't had to do that yet. I'm sure it'll come up sooner or later, though.
I finished the prologue, and will probably pick it back up a little later. Oh, and I also liked how it asked if you wanted to save the game every so often. ♥ Makes things nicer so that I don't have to start alllll over again or try to figure out where a save point is.
Time will tell if I actually truly like this game.
