Why I like them: Oz might actually be my favorite strictly Buffyverse character. He’s this wonderfully calm, sarcastic, romantic character, whose also this huge contradiction because while he’s all of these things, he’s also a werewolf with all this inner rage and jealousy and anger boiling under the surface. He’s quite possibly the sweetest boy in Sunnydale (the type of boy who notices the girl dressed up like an Eskimo standing alone and can’t look away), but is also a monster. And I just love that.
Why I don’t: Not enough of him. Why’d you have to leave Oz? Why’d you have to leave?
Favorite episode: Phases. We didn’t get a lot of Oz specific episodes, so in trying to find ones that focused more on him its hard. But I just love his reaction to the whole werewolf thing. Probably the calmest reaction ever and its awesome.
Favorite scene: The scene in “Choices”, you know the one that probably gets talked about a lot, where he smashes the pot and decides for them that Willow is the only thing that matters. I just love that in a moment where you can completely understand where a character like Wesley is coming from, you have Oz who is so calm and zen to a tee, so suddenly angry and possessive and positive that this is the only way, and just reacts. And I just love it.
Favorite line: You have the sweetest smile I've ever seen. So I'm wonderin', do the other cookie animals feel sorta ripped? Like is the hippo goin', "Hey man, where are my pants? I have my hippo dignity." And, you know, the monkey's just, "I mock you with my monkey pants!" And then there's a big coup in the zoo. […]All monkeys are French. You didn't know that? (I feel like I might have cheated a little because it’s not one specific line, but it’s just this whole speech and his little through in about Willow’s smile and then he’s back on the animal crackers and just, who wouldn’t fall in love with him after this speech?)
Favorite outfit: Not really an outfit, but I like him best blonde.
OTP: Willow/Oz. Not that there are really a lot of canon Oz ships (or popular fandom ones I’ve come across) but I loved them. They were one of my favorite pairings on the show in general.
Brotp: Buffy and Oz. There wasn’t a lot of them, but I loved them and their friendship.
Head Canon: After he left Sunnydale sometimes he still visited LA and Cordelia and Wesley and Angel, because they were a connection that he needed, but couldn’t have from anyone else.
Unpopular opinion: Umm…Are there unpopular opinions about Oz? For all I know, all my opinions on him are unpopular. I don't know that much about the Buffy fandom.
A wish: That he and Willow met up again years later. Maybe nothing romantic ever happened again, but they at least became friends. They were Willow and Oz again.
An oh-god-please-don’t-ever-happen: I wouldn’t want him to ever turn evil. He’s too wonderfully Oz to be evil.
