wish list
I always feel weird about posting these so early, BUT I figure that this way I have longer to give gifts and pester my f-list into doing this too. hear that f-list I'm coming for you.
Step One
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Sam/Dean icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
- Don't forget to post your list to wish-list as well as your journal. The more your list is seen, the greater the chance that someone out there can fullfill your wishes.
Step Two
-Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is
another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
One. If anyone is feeling super generous. I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE more icon space. I have an unhealthy love of icons and SO many characters I'd love to have icons of, I'm constantly changing them and I'd love more space. Any amount if you happen to have the money to spare.
Two. Fic/Fic Recs for: Caroline Forbes (TVD), Dawn Summers (BtVS), Duke Crocker (Haven), Fred Burkle (AtS), Kenna (Reign), Mary (Reign), Spencer Hastings (PLL), or Thea Queen (Arrow). I've had trouble finding fics for them and really include their point of view. I'd love character pieces, but I'm open to anything including all pairings and ensemble pieces, just as long as these characters get their time.
Three. Kind of repeating myself, because I'm including characters above, but I'm kind of late to the party. So I'm looking for any recs for BtVS and AtS. I'd especially love pieces on all the female characters, but really, all the characters. Stories that have stuck out to you, long multi-chapter pieces, one-shots. Any pairing, any character, anything you have to offer up.
Four. Come play at freerice.com, its a word game that also donates rice. Its fun if your like me and enjoy word games and has different subjects and like I said, it donates to a good cause. This wishlist is actually how I found out about this.
Five. I get really bad migranes, so any recommendations you might have to help with them/your own experinces and what helped.
Six. Spread the love. Comment on people's work, tell them what you think. Give people hugs, even if their virtual. Smile at strangers and make their day a little better. In general just spread the love and happiness. Send out positive vibes.
Seven. Please leave links to your own wishlists or prompts for stories here. I can't make any promises, but I will defenitly try.
I SO encourage my f-list to make up lists, even if its just for your f-list. I love giving presents, I'm often really slow at it, but I love it. So please make a wishlist and make sure I know about it. Or like I said, leave some prompt ideas in my comments and I'll see what I can do and try to write you a story. :D
