I've felt, well terribl, for days now. Like I've lost count how many, but its not been fun. I thought yesterday might have been me starting to feel better, but then today came and I swear my body laughed at me, like 'psych, got ya'. And I don't care what the weather station said, my allergies are acting up like crazy. And I'm inside my house. (Yes ( Read more... )

writing is hard, no operating heavy machinery for me, i want something to marathon, headachey, my beautiful f-list, meme, bad day, randomness, have you seen my muse?, you know you want to, sick, all the fandoms, come play with me

AtS

favorite male character: I try to figure this out and it usually ends up with a tie between Wesley and Angel. (Which makes me feel bad about Gunn because I love him too, just not as much.) Wesley wins in a lot of ways, but Angel and his dorkiness sometimes wins me over in an episode, but overall story-arc and character wise Wesley probably wins. That and his scruff.
favorite female character: Fred. Fred's one of my favorite characters in general.
prettiest character: My crush on Amy Acker makes me say Fred. But Cordelia is gorgous too.
funniest character: They all make me laugh, but probably Cordelia. Intentionally anyways with her sarcasm and just saying whatever's on her mind. Angel's dorkiness that I mentioned always made me giggle. Him and his anti-hero, save the world talk, that tries to talk Wesley into wearing the pink helmet/imagining himself dance/loving the ballet or getting excited over his turn in getting bandaged up.
favorite season: I go so against the grain with this one from what I've seen in fandom, but season four. I love Cordelia so I understand why so many people don't like what they did with her character, but its my favorite season. I just love all the storylines and how they did it all and the twists and turns and the darker sides of the characters that come out. I just love it all.
favorite episode: Supersymmetry. Again, my Fred love is showing, but its still my favorite. (I can list a lot more I love too, but this one really does top the list for me. Though I just watched There's No Place Like Pltz Blrb (I probably butchered that last part) and I love what it shows for all the characters.)
favorite romantic ship: Wesley/Fred. (I also have a lot of love for Angel/Cordelia, Angel/Darla and Wesley/Lilah)
favorite family ship: Well really Angel and Connor is the only legit family and not found family relationship we actually see explored on the show. And I did find it fasinating. So I guess them. Though I also really enjoyed the Burkles (the one functional family on the show), and any mention of Wesley and his relationship with his father. I loved the little pieces of that we got, as well as "Lineage" even if it wasn't really his father. (That episode would make it on my favorites list.)
favorite friend ship: Fred and Lorne overall. But then also early seasons Cordie-Wesley-Gunn. (But it makes me sad that it all crumbled in the end and even after the mindwipe Wesley and Gunn still seemed distant, so sometimes I don't like to think about it, even though its realistic in a lot of ways.)

Wesley

OTP: Wesley/Fred
OTF: Wesley/Angel fasinates me how it changes and all its dynamics over the years. Also the early years Wesley/Cordelia. I loved their banter and how they had to learn to see each other for who they are. And also their scene where they pretend to be Angel and Buffy. I mean, how could I not?
OT3: Fred/Wesley/Illyria (Does that count as an OT3? Idk, I just love the dynamic and there should have been more of it on the show, so even if its like phantom Fred/dream Fred or duel personailites Illyria or something, I'd take it.)
NOTP: I don't know if I have one. I don't really slash Wesley, so probably count those out for me and I have a good amount of ships for him canon or not (like Wesley/Faith, I don't think I mentioned that one), so I don't know if I have an actual answer for this one. I might be thinking on it now...

FRED BURKLE GIVES ME LIFE, AND SUPERSYMMETRY GIVES ME CHILLS. I think it should be an obligatory No1 episodes on "Why Should Everyone Ship Fred/Wesley" list. I'm forever bitter that their relationship got retconned in s5. I understand why it had to be retconned for plot reasons, but, man. She rejected and left him (as a friend!) when he was in the hospital with his throat cut, and then she came to him for help when she wanted to murder someone. Can you imagine how fascinating their s5 relationship would've been if they'd remembered all those things?

Wesley and his father, Jesus. That episode had me shaking. Denisof fucking slayed it.

FRED BURKLE GIVES ME LIFE

YES! AS SHE SHOULD EVERYBODY. SERIOUSLY SO MUCH LOVE FOR HER AND I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND WHY EVERYONE DOES NOT AGREE. obviously we just have better taste than most.

And yes. Supersymmetry is amazing and its so wonderful for all its Fred and her hardness and just yes. And yes, it shows so much of why I love Wesley/Fred and why they work. He cautions her, yes, but he never even blinks when she says she wants to murder someone. And it just--I would have loved to see more explorations of that. And yes, S5 would have been super interesting if we had seen so much of the baggage and relationship they had in S4. I mean as it is, we never know how much of it was still there and how much of it was erased. What parts they remembered and what parts were gone. I would have loved if Wesley had discovered the spell and broken it earlier in the season, so Fred would have gotten a chance to remember it all as well. And for us to see what it meant for them, what and if it changed anything. Alas, these are the things that must be tackled in fanfic now.

I know. Its such a perfect Wesley episode. And Denisof and his delivery of practically everything but for me always the part where he shoots and then when he tells Fred with complete honesty that he believed it was his father. Like you said shaking and chills.

Fred gets a lot of eyerolls for being such a ~good girl (and to be fair, Joss deserves some of the criticism for writing ~quirky girls), but this doesn't mean she isn't interesting. Her dominant streak throughout the show is her fundamental disagreement to go down without a fight, and that overrides her bubbly personality when the stakes are high. Late s4, anyone? She came and saved the handsome man from the monsters.

What's most interesting in Fred/Wesley for me is that they both have those fairy tale notions of love that they nurse -- not because they're so naive, but because they have hope for something beautiful. And I want to see their relationship when those fairy tale notions are gone, and they're left with the ugly truth. Forever bitter the show didn't give it to me.

Denisof should be illegal.
