We actually stopped and went in. Then we found that they wanted something like $35 each to see the damn thing and we left. So we still have the mystery! It certainly wasn't just a dollar.

Sounds like they were trying to con you, everything I found still mentions a dollar. I wonder if it was a fake "The Thing" place you ended up at?

Only criticism I have of the comic is that the Thing? is not in the middle of Arizona. It is in the southeast corner. Middle of nowhere? Certainly. Middle of Arizona? Not even close. :)

I, too, have never seen the Thing?.
