Last night I made spaghetti.
Nothing to that really, but the sauce is always an adventure. I wanted to make a thicker sauce than usual, so I used 1 large and 1 small can of tomato sauce, 1 large can of tomato paste and 1 can of water. I misjudged the final quantity a little and nearly had too much for the saucepan. Thinking "Wow, this is a LOT of sauce" I made my error, I increased the amount of spices I used in the sauce. I might be leaving something out, but it consisted of: 3 cloves crushed garlic, some garlic powder, black pepper, salt, onion powder, oregano, basil flakes and bay leaves.
And there was my mistake. I think. I used 2 Bay leaves. I should have stuck with 1. Unless the taste I didn't like came from the Paste. It was a bitter, acidic taste. If I'm describing it correctly.
Ah well, I'll try something different next time anyway. The adventure continues!
