Dogsitting Disaster

I am done dogsitting. Hooray! This time was not the most enjoyable experience for me. Let me take you on the journey of my not-so-restful weekend. So... After work on Friday I went over to the dogsitting house. The door was to be left unlocked so I could just come in and not worry about getting keys from them earlier (they live in a very safe neighborhood). I try to open the front door. Very much locked. I peek around in the windows and see some lights on both levels, shoes in the entryway, a shovel in the yard. So then I figured I had the wrong day and that they were just out to eat or something - it was supper time after all.

I go home and go about my business. The next morning I go over to the house. To my dismay, the door was still locked and all other things were also the same as when I had been there before. I freak out and try ALL of the doors. Nothing is open.

The night before I had found the last little note that she left me - it had her mom's number on it. I call the number, thankfully get her on the line, and try to explain the situation. Needless to say, I end up getting in the house, as well as getting an earful. I was very hurt and embarrassed...I didn't feel that I deserved to be "disciplined" for what happened. After all, I only had their home number on my cell...and what good does it do to call their house? I think THEY were just lucky that I had kept an old note they had left for me the last time; if not, there would have been nothing to do, short of busting in the window.

Along with all of that, I'm all pooped out and still withdrawing from stupid Cymbalta. I can't get any sleep...I just want to take an entire bottle of Ambien and sleep for a week.

I hope that work goes easy on me today...then it's home again to the kitty...who likes to chew on anything she can fit in her mouth.
