There's a new Lunargyros page up today, read it
here.
Sunshine is back home from the vet today...she was bitten on the nose by a rattlesnake yesterday. 8((( Luckily, my bro caught it early and was able to run her down to the vet in about 15 minutes. They got her on an IV drip with antivenin real fast. Luckily she was able to get home fairly soon, but she's still recovering very slowly...she's very tired and her face is puffy, and she's been having a lot of trouble walking. She keeps tripping over her back feet, and it takes a lot of effort for her to take any steps. I just really hope she gets better soon. ._.
Also got to hang out with
ghettopeach and
sbcpanuru, who I haven't seen in a loooong time, so it was awesome to get to hang out with him again! We had delicious seafood and watched MST3K.
Otherwise, today was kinda slow and upsetting. I'm still sitting on the egg and worrying about the dog, mostly.
Terminator 2: Judgment Day
I hadn't seen any of the Terminator movies, but new the basics (Evil machines take over and one goes back in time to kill the Connors blah blah) I enjoyed this one! While not being that broad or deep in the storytelling range, like all of Cameron's movies, it tells a fun story with really amazing effects with the exception of maybe Avatar, which just has the effects. And the effects were awesome; I can definitely see how they were groundbreaking for the time, because they still look great today. Most effects-heavy movies don't age nearly so well.
Also, points for having really interesting characters (I'd venture to say Cameron's most interesting, except for maybe Ripley). Even the heroes are kind of realistically unhinged considering their circumstances...with Sarah being violent and psychotic but with bursts of compassion, John trying to cope with his existence with teenage apathy, and the Terminator just...being a robot I guess. 8D Probably my only complaint was that it could've used more compelling music (except for the T-1000's creepy drone; that was effective.) Oh, and I wish the scientist guy hadn't died, it seemed really unfair.
Shaun of the Dead
This one was okay; maybe didn't stick with me so much because I'm not the biggest fan of zombie movies. (I thought that Zombieland was better than this one, honestly.) It got a little dark and sentimental at times, what with the relationship and friendship issues mixed in, but there were some funny moments. Like the part where Shaun basically runs to get a soda and is completely oblivious to the zombie carnage around him; very telling on how lots of people probably would handle a zombie apocalypse. XD And the tossing records part was also hilarious. Otherwise, ehh, it was okay to me.
