Bowling with Coworkers

Today was our annual bowling event for work. It's just a bunch of people getting together at a bowling alley with their families and enjoying dinner, a raffle and bowling. Every year I sign up with my kids and Bo and every year I get to thinking that I really don't want to go after all a few days before. As always I end up feeling better about it once we get there. ^_^

This year it was at the Triangle Bowl (the only bowling alley left in town currently). We showed up just after the start time and were not the last people there but not the first either. They served in house pizza for dinner, which looked more like frozen pizzas than fresh cooked. I found them to be way too greasy too and ended up with only three small slices. Despite my griping about food it wasn't too bad for what was available.

My daughter was having her friend Danielle stay the night and the only way to get Danielle to our place was for her to be dropped off. Well by the time she was able to be dropped off it had to be at the bowling alley. I was worried someone might think she had been invited to the event and I asked her to spend a little time away from us during key points (like dinner and the raffle). She completely understood and walked over to Happy Panda for some dinner.

I was disappointed that the bowling teams were set up by family again this year. That meant no socializing with the other coworkers. They did this last year too and I found it sad then too. No one really talks with me unless I 'm in a group with them so it felt like any other bowling night where we would be bowling on our own and not with the company.

I am still having problems with my neck and my daughter wasn't feeling too well either so we just bowled for two sets and then headed out. I almost made it out without anyone noticing but the head manager saw us as we were picking up our stuff. He came over and said good bye.

We headed out after returning out shoes and contacted Danielle to tell her we were done. This was around 8:30pm. The kids did get $5 gift cards each to Cold Stone and Danielle was jealous about that. :D
