Night Out with Ingrid
I saw yesterday that Duke's band was playing again at the Regent so I invited Ingrid to join me to see him play again. Ingrid was excited about it and invited some friends to join us as well.
I picked up Ingrid around 9pm and we headed over to the bar. We arrived on the band's first break but I didn't see Duke around so Ingrid and I ordered drinks looked for a table.
We found Ingrid's friend Joel and his friend Cindy playing pool and joined them. They were just finishing up a game so we suggested playing a game of doubles when they were done. We paired up (Joel and I against Ingrid and Cindy). Needless to say we kicked but with me sinking the 8 ball FTW! :D
Not long after we started playing pool the band started back up and when we were finished with the game we found seats in the main area to watch the band play. At the next break Duke stopped by to say hi. He was excited that we had come to see them play. As always he announced that we weren't at work and then gave me a hug. I find this amusing that he has to announce it each time.
Duke headed off to talk with other people and the waitress came around to ask if anyone wanted refills. Everyone wanted j-ello shots and Joel kept trying to get me to have one. In fact Ingrid would insist that I get one and then have it herself. So all night Joel would buy me a j-ello shot and Ingrid would sneak it off the table and down it. I found it amusing that Joel never caught on to this. I was also impressed that I only ended up with two diet Pepsi's and a water over the whole night.
When the band went back to playing the next set Ingrid got up and decided to dance. She spent the better part of the set dancing and a couple of people came up to comment to me how cute she was. Floyd pointed out that she doesn't really need a dance partner; she can dance all by herself. I wish I had felt better about getting up there. Besides still being semi-sick I am still too self-conscious, but it doesn't stop me from wanting to badly to get up and dance. :(
At the next break Joel and Cindy left. Duke spent this break sitting at the table with use talking. When the break was over Duke gave me a hug good by and we headed out. It was around 12:30 and late for me. It was a fun night though. :D
