I Was Born On the Moon

Or at least very close to it according to NASA. :D

An article written by the Associated Press was published in the local paper here today about my hometown of Moses Lake. Apparently NASA has been doing tests of their lunar equipment using the Sand Dunes as a site very much like the moon (with volcanic ash and other things to simulate the moons surface).

My favorite quote is "Believe it or not, this place has a lot in common with the moon." (Robert Abrose, Deputy Division Chief of NASA). So now I can officially say I came from the moon. :D

Here is the article from online sources (ironically the local Columbia Basin Herald did not have it online) and a You Tube video which I have yet to see but understand it's pretty interesting

I knew that the 10 mile long runway was an alternate landing site for the space shuttle but I didn't know there were other connections to NASA. I find it all very interesting. :D
