Fiesta Caliente Aqui
Ingrid invited me to a party at her place tonight after work. The party was scheduled to start around 6:30 but she wanted me to come over an hour early to help out with her computer and to take her to the store.
I headed over around 5:30 and picked her up. She wanted to go to the Hillcrest market to pick up what she needed because Karen was working today. So she guided me up over the hill and we stopped by to pick up what we needed. I also picked up a lunchable because I was too hungry and I knew that the party would be finger food only. I also picked up two of the Olympic special 20oz bottles. One is Bangladesh and the other Korea. :D
It was nice to see where Karen works and visit even if only briefly. She lamented about not being able to go. On our way back we headed the other direction down the hill so I got a full idea of where the market is. :D
When we got back I helped Ingrid set up and put out her sign board that read "Fiesta Aqui Caliente!". I also helped make the pizza's for the kids. There wasn't much else to do because Ingrid is so good at the host thing she usually has everything set up already. ^_^
Her other guests started to show up shortly. First Alice (her boss) arrived with her son. Then two over her other co-workers arrived (one with her daughter).
I wish I was feeling better but the heat today was just killing me slowly. It started out with a small itch in my nose and gradually worked up to full blown sinus allergies. Because of it I was a bit more anti-social than I would normally be around people I don't know.
Not long after everyone had arrived Craig called Ingrid and asked to talk with me. I was surprised but took the phone and talked with him. He told me that a co-worker came up to him today and told Craig that he saw Craig's drag racing videos on You-Tube. He was really proud of that. :D I was amused that he called Ingrid's in the middle of a part to talk with me about it. ^_^
The food was good at the party. Ingrid made a 7 layer dip for chips and Alice brought an awesome pineapple raspberry salad dish that was good! There were other kinds of dips and foods but those are the ones most worth mentioning.
We all sat in the living room and talked about this, that and everything in between. Ingrid showed pictures from way back when and I helped Alice with who some of the people were in the pictures. That was about the most social I got though.
By the end of the day my allergies were so bad that my face under my eyes was slightly swollen and I was miserable. I know it was the heat too because I went outside where it was a little cooler and I was much better.
Everyone headed home around 9:30. I was going to head out too but ended up talking with Ingrid for at least another half an hour outside on her doorstep. We talked about being strong and just getting out there and doing things. It was a good talk.
When I got home I headed straight to bed!!
