Went to the ucla open house today. I kept forgetting that it was only for people in engineering or applied sciences, so I was expecting to see at least a couple wilson people... but I didn't.
Woke up at 7 am and started driving to ucla at around 7:30. Got some breakfast with my mom and then got there at around 8:40. Since we were a bit early, we tried to get free parking... but we couldn't so we paid the $7 to park in the parking lot. -_-
We walked to royce hall, where the meeting was held, and got a bunch of papers and stuff. Went inside with still plenty of time to spare, so my mom and I fell asleep on the chairs. The room was just too comfortable... We woke up when the meeting started, and were shocked to see the entire room packed.
The meeting was pretty interesting. The chairmen, and one chairwoman, of each department explained their field a little bit. They all cracked at least one joke; I guess it's a good thing they seem to have a pretty good sense of humor. Then some of the ucla students came up to give their perspectives of the school. It was hilarious, at least for me, cuz I kept thinking he was William Hung. They all gave good speeches, humorous, and they seemed to genuinely like ucla.
Then went to another hall for a more specific lecture on computer science. Well, we couldn't actually stay for the lecture cuz my mom had some business to attend to, so we just kinda toured around the campus. It looked good, wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Didn't see the interior of all the buildings but at least it looked awesome from the outside.
Now... have to wait for the orientation in ucsd to make the decision...
Then had lunch with mom. She went to do her stuff and I went to Tzu Chi cuz I knew they had a special activity this week. I got there at the end, so I just helped them clean up.
I drove 120 miles today...
