Sentimental ReasonsCasablanca
Sam/Rick
Absolutely hands-clutched-to-my-heart amazing, and I loved every second of reading it.
Tipping the BalanceThe Graveyard Book - Gaiman
Bod/Silas
I especially loved Bod's (possibly misplaced) anger in Prague, the birthday drinks, and the lovely ending.
Complete BlankGrosse Point Blank
Martin Q Blank/Debi Newberry
How the Blank-Newberry wedding planning goes. Hilarious.
Oh, Jeeves!Jeeves & Wooster
Bertram Wooster/Reginald Jeeves
This was a riot, and the front-and-back art is *perfection*.
The Recipe for DisasterJohnny Dixon series - John Bellairs
Gen (with some Johnny/OMC hints)
This was utterly delightful. I was always impressed with the *dread* Bellairs was able to impart to his readers, and the author has managed to make the holiday-themed transformations downright sinister! The professor is hilarious, Johnny's relationship with Thomas was deliciously UST-y, and I adored what Evie turns out to be and what she's been doing.
The First DutyKiki's Delivery Service
Kiki, Jiji, Osono, Tombo, Ursula
Wonderful story about Kiki's return to town -- surprisingly plotty and exciting, with Kiki resolving the horrific situation she stumbles across in her unique way.
The Huli JingMaster Li series - Hughart
Master Li, Number Ten Ox
The author gives us an entire mystery wrapped up in a neat little package, and Ox and Master Li are perfectly in character. A fun read even for those entirely unfamiliar with the series.
a yellowed-paper heartNancy Drew - Keene
Ned Nickerson
This was an interesting premise that could have been just an interesting thought exercise, but it became a real story instead thanks to the sympathetic and complex Ned the author gives us.
ZihuatanejoThe Shawshank Redemption
Andy Dufresne/Red Redding
Post-movie. Red's voice is so clear as he heads down to meet Andy in Mexico.
Off the PaceSid Halley series - Dick Francis
Sid Halley/Charles Rowland
I was extremely impressed by the way this 15,285 word story evoked the Dick Francis style while having such a … non-traditional pairing at its conclusion, while maintaining the exact same feel throughout. (Note the story warnings.)
