Bye-Bye Kitty; brainmelt
So, in very sad news that most of you didn't know about, we decided to put our little girlcat to sleep. She hasn't been quite herself for a while now, and on top of the near-daily "gifts" she's been leaving (on the bed, on our clothes, on the floor...) and the change to a sort of flat, somewhat confused personality, it became apparent that age and her rather unfortunate genetics have taken their toll.
So, we did that today.
So, I'm passing up some opportunities to be social, because I'm not really up for it -- we made up our minds last week, but had holiday things, and I think being simultaneously all Joy!Joy!Holiday! and conflicted (guilt vs. relief) all at the same time has made my brains go squishy.
But some of my flist has got real trauma, and for you guys, I offer hugs and whatever support I can give.
It *is* nice to have such a wealth of fannish riches to buck me up, even if I've hardly read any yuletide stories at all. (Except I read all the Samurai Champloo ones, which ROCK, and I'm just bursting with love, watching the fandom of my heart blossom.) And the DS seekrit santa stories will have to wait, because everybody seems to be spending their vacations on LJ, and I'm desperately trying to keep up with even just *skimming* my flist, much less clicking on all the links and stories that people are posting.
Plus, I have anime to watch and a backlog of fic recs to read.
Anyway -- write me comment fic! Ask for comment fic and I shall try to deliver a few! Just -- nothing with dead cats, okay?
