Just an update.....
OK, I'm updating this journal because it drives me insane to keep checking my favorite blogs and there are no updates. So before I holler at friends and loved ones for not updating their journals, I have to update this one.
I don't update this journal often because I simply want to rant all the damn time. I work too much to do anything interesting -- not interesting enough to blog about anyway. And I consider it a gift to the 2 people that actually read this blog to skip a rant.
So in a nutshell: I'm back on evening shift per my request because my boss needs to focus on someone other than me. On evening shift I can dodge bullets, arrows and sharp blades much better. Plus, my evening shift staff were suffering greatly from my absence. So now I'm back as evening supervisor and my staff is happy and relieved but I have to fire 3 nurses this week. Culling is necessary. I really wish they'd just disappear on their own but of course if they were smart enough to know that their time is up they'd be smart enough to not need firing.
Christmas was short lived at my house. I had only one day off work, Christmas Eve. I had to work at least one day of every weekend in December so I didn't have time to make Christmas Christmas. Now I need to UNdecorate the house -- but I guess that will have to wait until this weekend.
I love my daughter, Lacey. But I'm liking her more and more every day. She's really a great person with a huge heart. She's happy and makes her own way and finds the good in most all situations. I can't take credit for making her into the person she has become. All credit goes to God. I can simply continue to pray that He parents her and molds her in the way she should go.
I've got black eyed peas to cook for tomorrow -- even though I have to work we'll still have the required New Year's food.
I need to eliminate STUFF from my house. I'm a packrat. I figure if we go into a full blown depression like my mom grew up in, I'll have lots of stuff to sell and get by with for a while. If the world as we know it comes to an end, I'll still have stuff to make it through until a new world is created. Of course, I'm planning on living through it all and needing lots of worthless crap.
But -- like I said -- I need to eliminate stuff. So my New Year's resolution is...........wait for it................. ELIMINATE STUFF. Garage sale in the spring, if I don't donate it all to Goodwill or sell any real good stuff on Craig's List first.
