i love skiing

i just ate an orange creamsicle and it was very pleasing. i may have to eat another one.

so this morning i woke to a nice surprise. i didn't even know it was supposed to snow last night. then i was sad cuz i wished i was still in NY.

so the ski trip was awesome. more snow could have been nice, but i still enjoyed every minute. even skiing in the rain wasn't all that bad beside the fact we were drenched. but i thought it was going to suck with the could rain pounding on my face as i went down the runs but i didn't really even notice it. it was worse the night before with the snow\freezing rain pounding on my face. so tuesday we drove past HV when we got in and i have never seen so many bare spots in my entire life. and i was really sad. but they made snow tuesday night and got like 4 inches that night as well so skiing wednesday was pretty good. taught matt succesfully and he did an awesome job at picking it up. for some reason i was really really worried about someone breaking something on this trip. i was scared i would be that person, or matt cuz he was starting off new. i think its just the lurking fact in the back of my head that beckys friend stephanie broke her leg on her second run of learning how to ski. the fact that i know someone who has and the fact that the binding don't release kinda scare me now. maybe i just don't wanna be out of commision for another 9 months like i was after i hurt my back. it might kill me if something like that happens again.

so anyways. got to do tannenbaum and crystal and mardi gras and northwind a bunch of times. yodler 4 times i believe. maple leaf twice and sunrise is possibly my second favorite run now. i don't know why i was never over there before on it. i loved it so much. maybe it was because there was so much freaking powder on it. i love powder. i don't think i have ever skied with that much powder, except for at mad river but that sucked really bad for some reason. but at holiday valley it was ten times better. i can't even explain it.

thursday we skied in the rain for about 2 hours, then went into the warming hut at the top of mardi gras. hung out there for a bit and dried out. then went back out and it was sweet. the top of mardi gras, northwind and tannenbaum were all caked in with fog. so we would like ride the lift into the fog and then get off and ski part way down the run in a fog cloud. i loved it and thought it was the coolest thing in the world at that moment. took matt down maple leaf and yodler two times each. he did amazing. by the way for those who don't know they are both black dimonds which are considered "most difficult". i can't wait to take him back there when there is actually snow on the ground. like through the trees and we can ski up the sides of northwind, go through happy glade and devils glen and under the yodler and tannenbaums lifts and swiss twist.

our little bunk house was pretty nice but it was kinda dirty...like some cobwebs in the corners and shit. it was kinda sick but i just ignored them. kelli was so nice. and we were the only people there so we could basically do whatever we wanted. at least going into the main lodge to watch cable and etc. not like ski club when it was packed with a bunch of people that were annoying, even though they were all from our high school. i will definately stay there again. sarahs hot plate griddle thing saved our lives. that was a genious idea. we could cook everything and eat really cheap all weekend. but never again will we cook bacon. that was such a mess.

i wiped out really bad only three times that i remember. once on tannenbaum where i flew up in the air and fell on the side of my ass. it took all the impact and i have a huge bruise from it and it hurts to side down. i was being stupid and trying to ski down it backward the whole way and hit a icy patch that wasn't broken up yet to expose the powder underneath it. once on yodler i fell on my stomach and knocked the wind out of myself and thought i got whip-lash, but i felt better after about an hour. i ended up sliding about 1/5 of the way down. and its a pretty long run. i just kept going cuz it was so steep i couldn't stop myself. the other time was on sunrise cuz i was going way to fast and sutting way to hard for myself to handle. i also slid down on my stomach for that one. somewhere in one of those i bruised my rib...oh and once when i was going down tannenbaum i went to do the jump right by the big bend in the run, which i had done probably 8 other times that day, and i hit something with the side of my ski. tim was right behind my and he said he bailed out cuz he saw sparks!! we found out later that i scraped the side of a rock that somehow we both managed to miss every other time before. needless to say i was too scared to do it again the next day. i didn't find any really bad marks on my blades though so im happy about that.

well im tired of typing and i really want another orange creamsicle. maybe i will eat some fruit with it to make it seem healthier. back to school tomorrow. i don't know if im ready for it or not. im leaning more toward the not part. but i won't miss living in a room with becky. thats for sure.

and i have decided for sure to live in an apartment this summer. wait i think i wrote about this already. but im 100% sure now. i think....

later all
