See, I think that's one thing I don't understand -- why does there have to be such a dichotomy between science and religion? I have a hard time believing something to be so cut and dry. I also have a hard time articulating what I actually think or where I think the middle ground or intertwined relationship is, but I think there is some sort of relationship between the two.
I'm finding myself being more and more put off by the leading humanist in my congregation because the main leader just seems to have this elitist air about him and I think the thing that's so frustrating is that then they act all high and mightly about compassion for others. I had a conversation with Pat at church a month ago kind of about this and she made a comment of how God has been taken out of the equation and then the people take their own intelligence and ability and see themselves as God in a way and that's no better than believing in a God just because someone else tells you too.
