1. Zoe from "Firefly" -- I love how multi-deminsional she is. One moment she can be this kick ass warrior and the next a loving or struggling wife and do so seamlessly. She seems very real to me. Gina Torres is just all around awesome right here.
2. Ripley from the "Alien" films (really just 1 &2) -- because she's not supposed to be a hero. She's not a fighter by choice. she's put in this situation and does what she has to in order to survive.
3. Cordelia from "Buffy/Angel" -- now I realize some my argue me on this, but I love her journey from this shallow, vain girl to an intutive, empathetic mother figure, who can very much hold her own in a world that she didn't initially belong to. In fact I'm still a little mad about season 4 of Angel and the places they took her.
4. Buffy -- I like her flaws, really. I like that she's self rightgous but that she has people around her that don't always let her get away with it. I like that she can be fragile and unsure, but has to learn how to carry the burden because there's no other choice.
5. Eames from "LOCI" -- I'm pretty sure she counts, I mean, she MacGuyver'd her way out in "Blind Spot" which is pretty awesome. really like how Eames, IMO, isn't your typical, emotional female cop standard.
