O little heart, stay small.
Do not covet, do not ache.
Do not bend to the winds of the world;
For aches are weighty,
And winds change.
O little heart, stay small.
Do not drip, do not swell.
Gather only weightless things--
Flitting dreams, massless light--
And be hollow.
O little heart, stay small.
Pebbles line the rivers and roads, but
Lightly, you may breeze by.
Thirsty, you may drink deep.
Empty, you may be filled.
