The challenge to write something every day quickly failed… Only lasted what, for six days? Ah at least it’s better than “mikka bouzu” (Japanese saying, literally “three day monk,” even if people who want to become a monk shave their head bald, most of them can’t stick with the hard ascetic training and will stop it after three days. == someone who gives up too easily).
Anyway, for the past week or two, I’ve been fascinated with this novel called “
Spicy Wolf.” My friend recommended me to read it long time ago, but didn’t get around to it until now, probably because I was busy and I thought it was more of anime/game, something I am not so good at it.
Despite it being categorized as “light novel,” it talks a heck a lot of economics, trades, whatever the fields I was never interested in. I couldn’t even understand some of the method they were using in the novel (orz) but it still made me want to read a volume after another, and before I knew it, I finished all 17 volumes v__v;
In the beginning, I felt like there was more “lovey-dovey” elements in it. At least I felt it had it. Lawrence and Horo’s conversations etc were oh so cute ♥ Horo is mine ♥ ♥ *ahem* I think that lasted for about until v5 or so, and after that I was reading for the heck of it so that I know the ending, and also so that I could know how Lawrence and Horo would deal with the problems. I could’ve skipped to the last volume (and I tend to do that), but I didn’t want to ruin the story by doing so. Very much recommending everyone to read this
Its manga adaptation is licensed and translated by Yen Press.
One thing I didn’t like about this, is the art… I don’t know, it looks too cutesy-cutesy. It’s a light novel so of course the art should be (?) cute, but probably because I didn’t look at the cover art while reading the novel, when I went back and look at all the arts, I felt something’s different. Don’t know what kind of art would fit better though…
While reading Spicy Wolf, I only did minimum on house chore that I had to do. I did cook almost every day since hubby was super busy… That was good, but other stuff like laundry, clean up the house, etc; I didn’t do any of them x_x Now that my addiction is satisfied, I need to go back and do all the stuff and live like a regular person once again.
Oh and, I want to name my next dog “Horo.” Hiro & Horo, works well, right?
