Just call me a money-grubbing capitalist

Right now I'm in the process of buying a used book store. By this I mean that not only is the book store used, but it sells used books. My daughter has worked there for several years, and has become the assistant manager. The current owner inherited it from his late wife some years ago, and he's never really been interested in selling books. He had a potential buyer who didn't work out. When I heard of this, I decided that *I* wanted to own this shop. And the cats that go with it.

Finally, FINALLY, I will have Enough Books to satisfy me. I think.

The owner is on a cruise (he'd booked this cruise months before) and will not be back until the middle of next month. I'm writing up business plans, exploring funding options, reading up on things, contacting SCORE, and doing everything I can to make sure that I can get this deal done quickly when the owner returns. However, there are a lot of things that I can't do without the owner present, or without information that only the owner knows.

I'm excited, but very frustrated.
