I went to Summits coronet this weekend. It was interesting, at times chinese interesting. I was so glad not to have to deal with any seneschally stuff and was pleasantly free of the people that made this game miserable for me. Some would walk to the other side of the eric to stay away from me. Guess I made a few people unhappy:)
My perspective is changing quite a bit. I have been concentrating on fighting for the las few months. I have no desire to hold an office, or to event think about that side of the sca. My service side is still there, but now it is in the form of helping to pick up garbage, lug heavy stuff and things like that. I think its fitting since thats where I started. The politics ate me up and made me hate this place. I still see it, but it is easier to ignore with the helm on or hanging with everyones kids.
Fighting is its own issue. I love it. I have fun. I need to train harder and pass this spot I am stuck at. My fights where ok. I lost both. There where things I was happy with. I was aggressive, my shield work was ok and I was confident about not taking shots that jus had nothing on them(although some people questioned my calibration). I need to work on power generation. I watched the video and I hit them, exactly where I wanted, just not hard enough.
I did not like the tourney. There where some ugly, unchivelrous fights and fighters and I was disappointed in the Summits. I was embarressed for us. I was thankful for Nemo who raised that bar of chivelry back up. I was thankfull to Duke Torkill and Vis Brian for Marshaling and helping to insure that the rest of the tourney ran well. I am not saying that all the fighters where unchivelrous, but the ones that acted in that matter disgraced us all.
The finals between Vis Sir Durin and Vis Gabriel were fun to watch. You could tell that they where having fun and both would be happy with the outcome. I was very happy to see Summiya's face when Gabriel one:)
I won't get into court but will say congrats to ceredwin! Very well deserved.
and congrats to Acacia!!! Congrats Tandi, long time overdue
