The quick update.
Five weeks worth of post. Eek. Life has been happening as I haven't been posting on LJ. I'm behind on Owl stuff... piles of music just waiting for me to get a couple days off to dive in. The blogs are backed up, as I've just been struggling to come out on top of my many responsibilities. Blech.
I've been performing at least once a week. I think that nearly everyone in San Francisco has seen me a-dancing to Weezer, which is awesome! I've been workshopping a new piece (and by workshopping, I mean taking it to shows and doing it completely new each time) as Lady Godzilla, and it's almost, almost there. I chomped on balsa wood planes last time, and Kingfish told me that every time he sees me perform it reminds him of how much physicality I have on stage. He loves my stage presence, which is so super flattering. I have a list of other songs I'm thinking of developing.
Honey Penny and I are in beginning talks of putting together an epic David Bowie duo. I can't begin to tell you how ecstatic/over-the-moon I am about that. Costumes that won't quit. That's what this number will be all about. Debuting it in January.
I have a host of concerts at the end of this month, as I am finally ready to step into the live show arena again. Also, in Owl news, I'm in talks with the people for the Gossip for an interview. I would die if I got to chat with Beth Ditto, but it's seeming that Hannah, the drummer, is more likely.
Also, big news, I'm only going to be at my Starbucks for one more week, and then I'm making the big move to another store three blocks away. It's a good thing. I'll have a bigger opportunity to hone my skills as a shift in preparation for promotion.
