I have been watching previews of the new X-Man/Wolvie movie and turns out one of my all time fav X-men is showing up in this one. His name is Gambit and I have had the fun of watching him from the moment he first appeared in the comic. The actor they have playing him is not one I know, but I'll post pics of the comic char and the actor and you'll see he def looks the part:

Other news is that scientist are extremely happy with Mr Obama and his science team. It is so refreshing to have president who is not anti science (like the last 8 yrs have been) The team consists of Steve Chu , John Holdren, Harold Varmus, and Eric Lander as co-chairs of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. He has assembled a scientific dream team, including two Nobel Laureates, and a host of eminent scientists with public-policy experience.

In his weekly address Obama announced:

Whether it’s the science to slow global warming; the technology to protect our troops and confront bioterror and weapons of mass destruction; the research to find life-saving cures; or the innovations to remake our industries and create twenty-first century jobs-today, more than ever before, science holds the key to our survival as a planet and our security and prosperity as a nation.

Because the truth is that promoting science isn’t just about providing resources-it’s about protecting free and open inquiry. It’s about ensuring that facts and evidence are never twisted or obscured by politics or ideology. It’s about listening to what our scientists have to say, even when it’s inconvenient-especially when it’s inconvenient. Because the highest purpose of science is the search for knowledge, truth and a greater understanding of the world around us. That will be my goal as President of the United States-and I could not have a better team to guide me in this work.

WoW and WHOOOHOOO, for once I feel we may have the real deal and a man with a brain in office! The whole address can be seen here:

Anyone else adoring the weekly fireside type chats? I also love that his team and top folk are indeed replying to posts made on the youtube channel and web pages. They are actually bothering to read what people are saying. Now if we could just move past the Rick Warren Blunder. The first time 'I heard he had been invited to the inauguration I about lost it. I bet they heard the cussing in CA on that one, but I have come to terms with the choice and will live with it, no matter how much I dislike the man and what he represents (not that I am bitter about the amount of local church congregants that were strong armed into buying his damn book or anything)

Finally Happy Hanukkah (never sure if this is spelled with CH or just an H...I seem to see it both ways) to those who celebrate.
