It's interesting how the big 3 automakers are now
begging for $25 billion of the total $700 billion earmarked for the financial industry bailout, when for three decades, environmentalists and realists have been begging them for smaller, fuel efficient/alternative fuel automobiles. The days of taking the money and burying their heads in the sand are over: 1 in 12 jobs in this country are worth saving, so they should probably get their slice of the pie with two caveats: CEO's and Exec's take a drastic cut in pay and parachutes and factories retool to manufacture smaller, fuel efficient automobiles.
