ive been thinking recently
about life, and carrers and the like.
i think i really want to work in movies.
not an actress, bloody no. i am not terribly pretty, nor feel like going on a super diet to go from my size to lindsay lohan slutslicle proportions.

but i want to work, maybe in production. for an independant company of course. and at the very commericial of my peak, focus.
actually, i would love to work at focus. their films are gorgeous. provocative, and not your normal fare.

yes, either production or marketing/distrobution. be sent off to buy films. of course, i have no idea how to do this, and im thinking of withdrawing out of unca because i dont really feel like wasting a year there.

unfourtunatly, this dream has come late. and i know that i do not have enough time to get a portfolio and such ready for the nc school of the arts.
oh mind, why do you have to be so damn fickle. or why france did you dangle this wonderful option in front of my face, just to take it away?
or maybe i ll write a movie of the injustice of it all.

and yes, i know that the cinema business is extremely superficial. trust me, cannes film festival explained it to me after five seconds. however, i believe in the art form. i want to support directors like chris marker and support films that you will never see, but i have.

maybe i will withdraw from unca. and go to cape fear. they have an amazing film studies programme. and hey, its just a fucking start. im not chaining my life to wilmington. although, maybe i should think about it.

although i may be getting in over my head.
fuck.
now let me go on my rant on tim burton.

in my search for information on the new helena bonham carter film (which i will be seeing wedensday) i of course ran into even more on mr. burton.

mostly people critcising his work.

mostly because people dont understand his media. hell, i dont even know if half of his fans do.

burton is an expressionist. thats why everything he does is so fantatistic. it is a form which was started in german cinema in the 20's with one of the most celebrated director's being Fritz Lange.

expressionisim is an art form which carries the viewer beyond normal cinema. using fantastic ideas, make up, and special effects, the director transports you to a world beyond.

im sorry, actually i lost this rant.
anyways basically what i would like to say is that burton is not supposed to be a mainstream director. so his films arent necessarily going to be mainstream. his films are expressionistic and wonderful. and i know this is badly written, so shut the fuck up.

and if your intrested in more of the form, check out "metropolis" by lange. and then youll see excactly where hes coming from.

thanks for listening
goodnite and goodluck
bisous
ciao
