It's been rather hectic in the Darko household this week and the basic point here is that our "lovely housemates" have vacated the premises. Forever. Awwwesome.
It started on Tuesday, when retarded-Debby decided to blame my mom because her car got towed. Stupid, I know. So the story is: Debby had/has this car that she left at her ex's house, but it had to be parked on the street because her ex wouldn't let her use his driveway. The car was undriveable anyhow. So Mom, because she's a saint, offered to let Debby use a portion of our driveway as soon as my brother could put HIS car in the garage for the winter. However, this couldn't be done until the garage was cleaned out.
Mom and Ryan both work full-time jobs -- Debby works a total of zero hours per week. That's old news. And if she really wanted the garage cleaned out that badly so she could put her car in the driveway, she could have started by initiating the cleaning job or something. Or SOMEthing, you know? She did nothing. So her car ... of course ... was impounded. Her own stupid fault, yet she found it in her black heart to blame it on my mother -- the one and same person who gave up her bedroom for Debby and Lizzie. Yeah, in fact, Debby managed to blame everyone else but herself. She took ZERO ownership in any of this.
So naturally and for good reason, Mom was furious. She actually left the house for a few hours Tuesday night just to avoid Debby. So I was alone when Debby returned to the house, and she was crying and giving me this whole sob story about how Christmas is ruined and how nobody will help her. And I'm like, "Wow, you're definitely not going to get any sympathy from me. You hurt my MOM." I didn't say it, but I think a part of her knew because I'm usually the one to comfort her and this time I just wouldn't.
So the next day rolls around, and it's noon. Debby has the luxury of having a bathroom attached right to her/Mom's bedroom, yet for some reason she found it necessary to use the downstairs bathroom when she woke up. This is strange for two reasons: Debby is never awake at noon. She stays up all night playing video games and then she passes out and sleeps until 4 in the late afternoon. That's her life. If she gets up at any point to use the bathroom -- she uses the one upstairs. So, because she was using the downstairs bathroom at noon this particular day, this was the conversation that followed:
Mom: Is there something wrong with the upstairs bathroom?
Debby: No, why?
Mom: No, I was just wondering if the toilet was plugged or something.
Debby: Um, no it isn't. Is it supposed to be?
Me: No, all Mom is trying to say is that it's unusual to see you using the downstairs bathroom. You usually use the upstairs one.
Debby: Why is that unusual? Am I not allowed to use the downstairs bathroom now?
Me: No, that's not what we're saying! We were just wondering if the reason you were using this bathroom is because the upstairs one is broken, that's all! (And keep in mind, I'm smiling as I'm saying this, to reassure her that we were NOT being jerkstores).
Debby: Oh, well no -- there's nothing wrong. Now I'm going to make a cup of tea, if THAT'S okay with you.
Me and Mom: *jaws drop as Debby storms out of the living room*
Two minutes later ...
Debby: *enters the living room* Would it be OKAY with you if I use the telephone?
And before I can even get a word in, Mom stands up, shaking with rage ...
And says: THAT'S IT! I'm not going to sit here and take this from you! I'm not responsible for your car and I'm not going to put up with your bulls**t!
Debby: I AM TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR MY OWN CAR!
Mom: NO YOU ARE NOT! AND IF YOU'RE GOING TO BE A F***ING B***H, DO IT SOMEWHERE ELSE!
So Debby took that literally and left a few hours later and her daughter didn't show up after school. It turns out that Debby told her to go to her godparents house, which is fine. But wow, does word ever get around so fast in this town!
I was at work last night and that's when Debby moved all of her stuff out. It all happened SO fast. But Mom called me at one point when I was really busy and she said, "It appears that we kicked Debby and Lizzie out into the street." And I really couldn't get any details and promised to call her back. I had NO idea what she meant by that comment, except that it was said sarcastically. So then I got a call later on from Lisa (my co-worker, who I mentioned in my last entry). She had an important question to ask me and afterwards told me that she heard from Shannon that we had kicked Lizzie and Debby out in the street. Shannon is Lizzie's best friend who happens to go to school with my sister and Lisa. Lizzie had heard this definite rumour from her godparents, who apparently heard it from Debby.
One of the main factors to keep in mind here is that my mom NEVER loses her temper like that. NEVER. She even told me that she's never been that angry with ME, even in the past when I was a jerkstore to her. And truth be told, I've never seen her that angry. But Debby had it coming to her. I know it's Christmas -- but Debby did this to HERSELF. She blew everything out of porportion and she had no right blaming my mom for everything that's going wrong in her life.
My mom was the only one -- the ONLY one -- out of all Debby's friends who took her in. And Debby is nothing but an ungrateful wench.
Yeah, I said it.
And the thing that gets to all of us is that Debby expected everyone to help her -- she actually EXPECTED it. But she had no desire to help herself. And you can't exactly help those who won't help themselves. But she's gone and I am just so happy and relieved. All the tension that was in the house is totally gone now.
It's great.
In lighter news, last night was our staff Christmas party. We all got very retarded, including the boss, and there was a lot of dancing and it was actually a LOT of fun. I will never forget me and Jenny having to walk Tom to his car because he was just so drunk. And the music was actually really good, too. There was a live band and they did all cover songs, but good ones. They played a lot of Hip, which was mainly at our own request. :)
OK, I'm off. I prolly won't update again before Christmas, so Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and have a wonderful New Year everyone! I hope Santa brings you everything you asked for and then some.
Take care :)
