Don't know if anyone is even still here, but this is mostly for me anyway, so here goes.....
Recap of the last couple of years:
.
August 8, 2013 My mom couldn't fight the disease anymore, and the battle ended. It was a long, painful ordeal, and I can only hope that she knows how much she was loved, and how big of a hole she left behind.
September of the same year saw my dad going through the first of several eye surgeries, but he can see sooo much better, it was worth it.
January 2014 he was back under the care of a surgeon, prostate surgery, but came through with flying colors. He was actually released the day after surgery, much to everyone's surprise, and stayed with us for a while.
Good thing too, since the husband had another series of heart attacks, and had to be airlifted to the heart hospital for a nice week long stay. Both the men in my life are well now, and going strong.
November 2014, the daughter and family made the move to Japan, for a four year hitch. Yeah, my heart has taken a real beating lately, but we talk on the phone a lot (thank you skype) and they are loving it, so I have to be happy for them.
I am still at the finance company, but no longer in collections (can you hear the huge hallelujah?)--am now in customer service, which is a much better fit for me. The hours have changed, though, in that we start at 6am, meaning I now get up around 3am, and in the winter that really sucks...still heating with only the wood stove, and I'm still chief pyro around here.
Been doing a lot of baking, mostly breads, and enjoying the satisfaction of knowing that it is enjoyed more than the store bought stuff...some of hubby's buds are wanting to learn to make their own, so we will see...class may have to be held :-)
Not doing so much sewing, mostly because after the mad Christmas push (the kids' belongings were transported via ship, and didn't arrive until christmas day) to get new stockings made and mailed, my craft room is a disaster and I just haven't had the inclination to go straighten it up...much easier to just close the door, and pretend it's not there. I will however, be changing that tonight, after we get back from my dad's, as i have got to get some new blouses made before the work week resumes.....thanks to a steroid treatment earlier in the year, nothing fits now, so yeah, time to sew for me now.
Still in the mountains, still heating with the wood stove, still trucking in water, but also using a lot of reclaimed rain water, so not trucking in as much as before...that almost makes up for the stress of driving through the mud, which puts the 4x4 through it's paces. I've even come to grips which going down the hills backwards at times, though I will never be totally relaxed and able to yell "yee haw" like the guys do.
I feel like I've come a long way in the last couple of years, and while time doesn't stand still, even if I wish it would, I'm still moving toward whatever is waiting...moving forward, even when I'm looking backward
