1) Which one is more irritating- being too hot or being too cold?
Being too cold. I hate being cold - I have low blood pressure, rediculously long limbs and a very light frame, resulting in a large surface area vs core body weight. It is so easy for me to feel cold, and so difficult for me to get warm again. I've finally figured out how to keep mostly warm at night (T-shirt, hoodie sweatshirt, fleece pants and wool socks), but my knees are still cold enough at night to ache, and I don't know what else to add - longjohns under my sleep pants? Oh so sexy, my sleepwear...
2) Were you born in the winter or the summer?
In the winter. As outlined in my profile, I came to this world in the midst of a Manitoba blizzard; -40 and blowing like crazy. I arrived an hour before Mum's doctor made it to the hospital. ...and when I was born, I curled up as tight as possible and howled in protest of the cold. *heh*
3) What are your favourite foods to eat when you need to warm up and cool down?
Winter - Beef and root vegetable stew with homemade buttermilk biscuits. Hot chocolate with a shot of Baileys Caramel. Apricot brandy or single malt with ginger is my evening drink of preference.
Summer - Greek salad and grilled mushroom caps. Blue corn chips with arugula dip. Beer or G&T becomes my drink.
4) Which one are you more likely to suffer from- hayfever or flu- and does it run in your family?
My seasonal allergies are nasty, but are spring and autumn more than summer. You can tell what's blooming outside by who is sneezing in this house. I tend to shake off influenza and rhinovirus infections pretty rapidly; I'll be sick a couple of days, as opposed to a week like most people.
5) You are granted a day of perfect weather whenever you like. What day do you place it on and why?
Oh, there are too many discriptors of "perfect weather" for me to choose one. There are perfect days in every season. But if I were to pick my birthday, it'd start off clear and ringing cold like only February can be, and there'd be a deep snowpack, and I'd be able to take off on my snowshoes for a couple of hours. ...and when I came home it'd have warmed a bit and there'd be a soft snow falling. Hot chocolate by the window and watching the birds...
Unrelated - I'm terribly fond of the pun in this song title. Oh, David, you're so clever...
