I can't believe how many people posting here still don't get it.
These communities have been dealing with a government that has argued about whether to send alcohol-based medication or sanitizers (ie. the ones you see *everywhere else*) because they're concerned that people in these First Nations will simply drink the alcohol. The government wanted to refuse equal medical treatment because they were still too busy treating an entire people group like children.
So the medical shipments have already been highly politicized in all the worst ways leading up to this. Then, when supplies are finally sent, they open up a shipment and see body bags.
Please, seriously, try to realize that even if it was an accident, it was an incredibly stupid and insensitive one given the already stupid and insensitive history.
