Sitting in the Frog Pond

I don't understand how, but the sweater I'm designing for myself has somehow managed to become 1.5 inches too large across the chest. Somehow, I have 188 sts when I need 180. ..and before you ask, yes, 1.5 inches is a problem for this design.

So I'm going to have to frog back at least 27 rows and figure out where things went wrong.

So. Frustrating. *headdesk*

On the plus side, I finished the knitting for Mum's prayer shawl Tuesday. I need to weave in the ends and block it, but that'll happen tomorrow when I have time to let it dry. It is massive, quite a large piece on me and I'm taller than Mum by a good four inches. ...it'll wrap her up quite nicely, I think. Love her so much...

I try not to think about how this shawl is only the second project I've finished this year. I havn't had great success with my knitting this spring - pretty much every sweater I've started has wound up sitting in the frog pond. I'm not going to let this one disappear into the UFO drawer, though, as I need to keep plowing through the design process while I still understand my notes. Still, I won't have nearly as much as I'd hoped to show at the next Wednesday Knit and Chat *sigh*

Ah well. Onward and upward... *ripit ripit ripit*
