I don't know where to begin...
We got let out early from work today, on account of the weather being bad enough this morning that our charity partner called their trucks off the roads. We got through all the reserve carts by 1:30, got everything priced out onto the floor by 1:55, and then spent a riotous hour playing.
Value Village has a Fun Committee. Seriously. ...and they had a balloon-and-dart game set up in the lunch room, and everyone got a turn to throw darts at the balloons, and everyone got a prize (chocolate). ...and then we had a corporate trivia contest (*glee* so cheesy!), with more prizes (chocolate). ...and there was a "guess how many cinnamon hearts in the jar" contest (not chocolate, but still). And by the end of the hour, we were all giggly and happy on our mutual sugar buzz.
And then I walked home in the bright sun and blinding wind, and then I shovelled out the end of the driveway where the snowplows had undone the work of some kind, anonymous neighbour who'd taken their snowblower to our driveway for us. I have no idea which neighbour did it, but I'm thankful. ...because I love shovelling, but probably shouldn't as my back isn't all that strong yet.
Now I am going to write about love, 'cause that other board I post to is running a Valentine's writing contest from now until the end of the month. Unlimited entries, every time you submit a piece your name gets put in the draw. Because the point of the contest is the habit of writing more than the quality of the writing, and I can get behind that.
If I come up with anything decent, I may just share it...
A blessed, bright evening to you all. Warm wishes and healing thoughts to everyone battling illnesses, too.
