Since August 2001, I've happily used LJ to express my inner ramblings and to connect with friends, old and new, from online and off. I even bought a permanent account because I enjoy the service so much. However, due to unfortunate online incidents I've been forced to make my LJ Friends Only.
I use LJ as a personal diary, recording whatever's in my head that day, from the silly to the sublime. I make to-do lists, I talk about politics, I plan costumes, I dream of travel, I complain about the state of the world, I share stupid links, I talk about relationships, I contemplate buying stuff off eBay, I imagine my future, I ruminate on my past, I review what I had for dinner, I follow some memes and quizzes even. I also use LJ to keep up on the daily happenings of my friends, many of whom are scattered around the world. I occasionally connect with new people through our shared interests. Please note that I'll read your public LJ posts to verify who you are and see if I'm interested in your own writing. Yeah, this all sounds awfully picky.
