Coming home now ...

May 10, 2011 23:43

Got around pretty fast this time with the tagging of my Dublin pictures.
When I did so and took a look at how I uploaded them last year I recognized that I promised to upload the missing ones to my personal gallery later. I never got around to do that actually :o I also have a few more pics this time than you will see under the cut, but I am aware of the fact that my gallery doesn't work as it should and I already have something on my mind, but with all going on lately and Katta coming over on Friday and my room still looking like a mess after I painted it and bought new shelfes I don't have time for that right now, but it will be on my agenda afterwards I promise! I will let you know once it's set up, but for now here are "a few" pics to enjoy ...

Grafton Street

Spire

I mainly went to Dublin to see Boyzone live for the first time ever, and I wasn't disappointed by them. Awesome live show. Can only recommened and hardly wait for the DVD to come out ...

Not for the first time I was double checked because of my camera. I really have no idea what's wrong with it. Okay it has some zoom and if you know how to use it you can make some awesome pics with it, but to tell me that the lens isn't allowed and when I tell the volunteer that I don't use any lens (was my digital camera and not the DSLR...), but it's just a normal digital camera she still told me off and said my pics are way too good. It's actually a compliment but I was still pissed as it was a once in a lifetime experience

Dublin Wheel at night ...

Liffey

I feel in love with all these St. Patrick's Day decoration ♥

Temple Bar district ...

Look at the man behind the painting. So nice and waving. You gotta love the Irish.

... end of Temple Bar district.

St. Patrick's Day ...

While we were there there was also the Rugby 6 Nations Cup. Ireland played against England and this is supposed to be Brian O'Driscroll.

The crown says "Irish Princess" ... Have one myself and every now and then I allow mum to eat with a "real Irish Princess" and wear my little crown to dinner :P

I am not quite sure yet, but I actually do believe that the doll on the left was in Berlin once and I had to walk home because of it .... Not good memories to be honest :P

I still think he does look like Johannes from Revolverheld.

He doesn't look too excited, but who would with an upside down shamrock??

St. Patrick's Cathedral was green ♥

I really like this picture ... When walking down the street it reminded me of Harry Potter :P

Before going on holiday I looked for a few things we could do and apparently I made this nice little walk for the easter rising ... Mum said it was all fine, but when I actually did it, she made fun of me and I ended it half way through as I was too pissed. She said I could go on and I walked my way through the city and everything but I didn't told her any of what I've written down beforehand, I was too disappointed she didn't took me serious in that moment after I spent hours on putting everything together ...

This is a memorial for Michael O'Rahilly who got shot during the Easter Rising. He wrote a letter to his wife while dying in the place where now the memorial is set up. It reads the following, "Written after I was shot. Darling Nancy I was shot leading a rush up Moore Street and took refuge in a doorway. While I was there I heard the men pointing out where I was and made a bolt for the laneway I am in now. I got more [than] one bullet I think. Tons and tons of love dearie to you and the boys and to Nell and Anna. It was a good fight anyhow. Please deliver this to Nannie O' Rahilly, 40 Herbert Park, Dublin. Goodbye Darling."

We went to the Dvblina and the Christ Church Cathedral this time ...

Henry VIII :) I love my Tudors and immediately spotted it. Not like the time where it said, "Sorry no photographs" and I took a pic and only saw it at home when I looked through my pics. Oops. No one seems to have noticed and I won't post the pic then ... :P

My Christ Church Cathedral ♥ For years I've been in love with it and finally we got there. It's awesome. I didn't recognise anything from The Tudors I have to admit, even though I looked for it, but it was just awesome to be in there and see it all ...

The heart of St Laurence O'Toole or Lorcán Ua Tuathail which would be his Irish name.

The cat and the rat where found when they in an organ. I am not quite sure if they cleaned it or took it away or how they did found them but they found them in there.

This is somehow one of my favourite shoots from this years' trip and I can't even explain why ... I don't think I could ever tell anyone why something was my favourite shoot mind you ...

A trip to the Dublin Zoo ...

So lovely ...

England Rose ... It's actually on the Rugby shirts of the England Rugby Nationalteam ...
