Title: Don't Forget
Pairing: Demi/Selena
Rating: PG/PG-13
Summary: With a sigh, Selena gently closed her laptop and looked around once. Picking up her iPod, she opened the door to the hall and began to walk slowly. Plugging the earphones firmly in her ears, a familiar voice greeted her, the voice that had just broken Selena's heart. She walked.
A/N: This is based on The notebook. Oh and I know it is impossible to you know from that high up. I just wanted it to end that way.

Body shaking uncontrollably as the young girl stared at the screen, eyes filling with unshed tears that invaded her vision, making the computer screen blurry.

Two girls laughter fills her ears, she thinks about it, can almost remember the exact actions, the small touches of the hand, her head on the other girls shoulder.

To think that this was so long ago. She wondered what had happened. Why? Why her?

The thoughts were infiltrating her mind, making the tears fall slowly down her face. She was at the point where she wanted to do something extreme. Something really really extreme and not at all like her.

With a small sniffle, she picked up the phone and wiped the tears roughly from her face. Dialing the ever familiar number, she waited, trying to even out her breath, as the tone played.

After what felt like forever, the same sweet familiar voice filled her ears, making every bad thought dissappear.

"Hello?" The sweet voice said.

She inhaled deeply before replying.

"I can't do this anymore, Demi, I can't watch you move on, I just can't. Its killing me."

"Selena..." Demi inhaled sharply as she recognised the voice. "Selena, What are you-You- You shouldn't be calling me." She replied harshly finally pulling herself together.

Selena sniffled lightly. "I needed to. I needed you to understand. I can't simply stop loving you. IT'S IMPOSSIBLE!"

"I don't want to listen to this. Its over Selena, You need to move on. I have! You can't just call me like this!" Demi replied angrily, Her voice making Selena's slim frame shake with renewed sobs.

"I know its over. But I can't move on. I needed to hear your voice. Maybe just one last time." Selena retorted softly and pulled the phone away from her ear and hanging up. If this is what it took to get rid of all the pain she had been feeling, then she would do it. Demi had made herself perfectly clear. She didn't want her. She didn't want anything to with her.

With a sigh, Selena gently closed her laptop and looked around once. Picking up her iPod, she opened the door to the hall and began to walk slowly. Plugging the earphones firmly in her ears, a familiar voice greeted her, the voice that had just broken Selena's heart. She walked.

------------------------------

Meanwhile, Demi, Having just got off the phone with Selena, was more than a little upset. She hated how much she had changed, hated the fact that she had heard Selena cry, and it was because of Her, She hated that Disney and everyone else was running her life. She wanted away from it all.

She thought about the words that Selena had just spoken, It was so good to hear her voice again, but the words that came from her sweet mouth haunted her.

"I needed to hear your voice. Maybe just one last time" What did that mean? Did this mean she was truly giving up on Demi? Was she going to do something stupid and reckless? Something totally out of character?

As Demi sunk to the ground, She thought. About everything. About 1 or 2 years ago. About making silly YouTube videos that millions of people loved. The many fansites supporting her and Selena. The few fansites supporting her and Selena as a couple, analysing there every move, catching the little hints of a relationship by one YouTube video or interview. She herself had visited them sites very often. Reading the amazing stories that people had written about them. It made her happy. It made her feel giddy. And yet, she had angered and upset them websites with her and Selena's breakup.

The wild thoughts and memories running throughout her head finally got to her. And suddenly, she knew where she had to go. Getting up from her seat off the ground she picked up her car keys and rushed to the door.

-------------------------

Selena sighed as she heard one of most upsetting songs of Demi's come into play.

"Did you forget, that I was even alive"

She walked up the long flight of stairs of the Disney Studio. She was on about the 5th floor now.

"Did you forget, everything we ever had"

Her legs started to burn but she pretended not to feel it, instead, she embraced the pain. It reminded her that everything that had happened in the last year or so. It reminded her that she was alive.

"Did you forget, Did you forget, about me"

6th floor. Only 5 more floors to go.

"Did you regret, ever standing by my side, did you forget, what we were feeling inside, now I'm left to forget, about us"

Soon she would be free of all this pain. 4 floors to go.

----------------------

Demi's thoughts seemed to be on overdrive and the more she thought, the more she found herself panicking. She felt like driving herself into a river for what she had done. She had caused this. All because of stupid Disney and her stupid reputation. She had forgotten who her real friends were, and what really mattered in life. She wanted to go faster, her heart was beating hard and fast in her chest, her hands were clammy, and her breathing was somewhat laboured.

She had reached a huge traffic jam and she cursed loudly. She was only 5 minutes or so away. But those 5 minutes could be so important. Taking the key out of ignition, she jumped out of the car and started to frantically weave throughout the traffic, hardly hearing the beeps she was recieving, nor seeing the huge amount of photographers following her with flashing lights. None of that mattered now.

She ran and ran but it felt like a lifetime before she reached the entrance to the Disney Studio. Not bothering to pause to look at the photographers or the three brothers that she dashed passed giving her a questioning look. She ran to the elevator. It seemed quicker despite her growing panic.

She wanted to scream. She wanted to kick things. She wanted to shout so loud that she loved Selena that she would hear it. But none of that was possible at the moment. She needed to get to the top on time or she was going to regret it for the rest of her life.

She was slowly approaching 8th floor when she heard it. Every limb in her body tensed. Her breathing hitched.

------------------

She had done it. She had reached the top with no interuptions. She had put "Don't forget" on replay. She wanted that voice to be the last thing she ever heard.

She had somehow aquired a microphone on the way up. She couldn't remember how, her mind was in a daze at the time.

She was overlooking the city. Seeing cars go by without a thought. People crowded on the streets unsuspectingly, Completely oblivious to the young girl stood high above them on the building edge.

She felt the gentle, cool breeze brush through her hair soothingly. She closed her eyes for a moment. Inhaling deeply. Trying to memorise the scent in the air, the swish of the wind.

She pushed the microphone to her lips, metal brushing softly against them as she spoke.

"I Love you Demi Lovato, Don't Forget"

Dropping the microphone on the floor, she took one step oblivious to the footsteps behind her, and fell.

------------------

Demi rushed up to the rooftop and watched in horror as her love stepped off of the roof. Falling gracefully into the city below them.

Demi screamed and ran over to the side. She watched as Selena held out her arms beside her, looking like an angel and as though she had wings.

Demi was sobbing and screaming desperatley by this point until she heard someone behind her, who then roughly grabbed her shoulders and pulled her away from the side. Tears were pouring down her face, wetting the persons shirt who was holding her.

Sobs were shaking her slender frame.

And screams were still erupting from deep within her throat.

She felt dead. She saw the beautiful emotionless face of the girl she loved fall. Fall into the arms of death. And that killed her.

She knew it was her fault. She knew. She had heard the last words Selena had spoken. It was eating her up. Carving her heart out.

She heard herself scream again before everything faded.

----------------------
White. Everything was white. It blinded her for a moment before her eyes became accustomed to the brightness of it all.

Blinking a few times, she slowly opened her eyes. Her head felt like someone had just kicked her with an iron boot.

The dark haired girl slowly sat up, and saw people surrounding her with puffy eyes, tear traces still visible on their red cheeks.

The movement caused all of those surrounding her to look up with relief. Although, worry was still evident in their eyes.

"Where's Selena?" I was shocked at how hoarse my voice sounded but waited patiently for an answer.

Everyone looked up guiltily but none of them replied.

"Where's Selena?!" I said yet again, raising my voice in panic.

It was Miley who eventually spoke up.

"She's in one of the wards down the hall" Her thick southern accent drawing out 'hall'

Demi moved quickly and stood up, feeling dizzy as she did. Many worried eyes followed her, but did not attempt to stop her as she marched across the hall to the receptionist.

"Can you please point me in the direction of Selena Gomez's room please?" She asked kindly but firmly.

"Down the hall, four doors down and to your right" The lady replied.

Demi said a quick 'Thanks' before rushing off to where the lady had directed.

Looking nervously through the door. Demi opened it and walked inside.

She was met by the most upsetting sight of her entire life. There in the furthest bed away from the door, was Selena. Only she wasn't Selena anymore.

Her beautiful face was covered in dried blood, sealed wounds and bruises. Her arms and legs were covered in tubes.

Her mouth didn't hold the same cute smile that she was so used to. Instead it held a long clear tube.

Her eyes were invisible. She looked so peaceful and calm. Almost as if she were sleeping.

Demi reached out to tentivley take hold of the injured girls hand. Running her thumb gently across a long wound she found there.

She couldn't take her eyes off the sight. She forced herself to look away as her throat began to constrict and tears began to fill her eyes.

She saw something catch her eye on Selena's bedside table. Keeping one hand on Selena's, the other hand reached out to grab hold of the metal device. It was still on and she could hear music coming out of it quietly. Flicking the hold button, Demi found herself staring at her own face. She carefully put one of the buds into her ear and the tears she was holding back escaped from her eyes. The soft gentle rhythmn of "Don't Forget" was playing.

Demi flicked her eyes over Selena's body yet again. She knew that this girl was in a bad condition. She knew she wasn't going to make it. It was lucky she was still alive at all.

She carefully stood up and placed a wet kiss on Selena's head, gently whispering the words "I love you" Before she pulled the chair towards the bed more and sat there cradling Selena's limp hand.

Demi prayed, she prayed that she would die right here with Selena. So that they could be together in heaven. She could almost feel death within her grasp.

She smiled softly before placing her head gently on Selena's bed before falling into an easy and never awakening sleep.

----------------

Hands loosely wrapped together, Demi leant into her love as the sun slowly faded.

"I love you Demi, We will be together forever"

"I love you too Selena. And I know we will be"

---------------------

The End!
