Of knees and well laid plans.

the opening page tells me it's been over two months since I wrote an entry, I hate to think what that says about me. As I haven't been online much of late I've not chatted to anyone for ages.

So, three weeks ago tomorrow, Friday, I had surgery to have my right knee replaced. It wasn't fun, I reacted badly to the pain control and thought I was losing my mind on the Sunday after a really bad night on the Saturday. But I did survive, mind relatively intact, I think, and was returned home on the following Wednesday as soon as I could walk on crutches without killing either myself or those around me.

My physio has been going well, I'm using just one crutch now and my therapist is pleased with my progress. I'm beginning to feel a bit stir crazy as I'm pretty much confined to the house because of the landscape; it's very hilly around us, our driveway is steep and the only access to the garden is down steps, not good on crutches.

I thought I'd be able to fill my time writing, but I'm finding it hard to concentrate or focus. But I guess I'll get there in time.

We are struggling to persuade the States that they really do want us to come and live there! We are about to arrange an appointment to talk with specialist lawyers to see if we can make any progress, we have a few questions we haven't managed to get definitive answers to yet. Unfortunately things have not been looking too good so far :(
