Progress - The List

I'm working on several items on the list all the time, but one important one is cooking on a regular basis (#6). Often I do not want nor like cooking. This is a big stretch for me. Tonight we're doing a slow cook chicken and dumplings. It's about 8 points per serving, which is pretty good. The serving size has to be huge because there are only 4 to 6 as per the book, but it could be stretched to 8.

That leads me to #8, which is loose 25 lbs. Right now I've lost and kept down 2 lbs in the past week. Hooray! My ultimate goal is to be 135-140 lbs again. It is going to be a few years, but I can do it. For my health, I have to do it. Not to mention, it'd be hella awesome to wear a bikini and look good again. Hopefully I can drag the whole family to the gym once a week. That'd be nice. A friendly game of Horse would be a nice change up. So would some tennis volleying. I cannot play volleyball because it bruises my arms to hell and back again. :(

Stephanie is working hard to finish up all the potholders that can be made with her remaining loops. Her reward is her new hobby (#12). However, I'm not sure whether it will stick. Penny showed Stephanie how to knit on one of those round looms. She really liked doing it because it was easier than the needle tatting. As it should be for her due to her poor fine motor skills and lack of hand/wrist muscles. It's a wonder how she does a lot of things. Either way it will give her something in common with a lot of people in the family. She'll be able to bond better with her great aunt, aunt, cousin, father, my grandmother and me. It's considered a hobby when she will do it by herself instead of being told to do it and keep with it for at least 6 months.

I'm reducing the amount of Tv I watch by listening to the music channels instead (#19). The only radio I have is in a boom box without iPod capability. My computer speakers are not loud enough and Peter's computer doesn't have enough of the stuff I like on it to use it. It could be considered using the Tv, but it's classical music with no pictures and I can close the doors of the cabinet while listening. Then I can pay better attention while spinning or knitting.

When I'm finished with Lisa's moebius then will begin the pair of socks for the year (#14). They're going to be for my Uncle Glen. We've already got the yarn and pattern picked out. :) It may be tedius, but it's worth ever stitch. I decided to change from a stole to a moebius because there is a bit more versatility to a moebius. You can wrap it twice for a cowl, wrap once for a hooded scarf or wrap around you like a shawl.

Spinning has been going well. This past month I've spun at least 5 braids (#3). Right now I'm working on my 1st for this month. The inventory for my shop is really piling up, literally. Reading the manual to my Nikon has helped take better pictures of everything (#5) and will help me record the life of a tree for the year (#1).

This Saturday is that Super Couponing Class I want to take (#26). Hopefully we're going to have some fun.

That's it for progress so far.
