IT SPINS!!!
It's not alive, it spins! :D
I took the spinning wheel in for the drive band and any adjustments. Amazing enough this is a hand made one and actually works to spin! They said there are a lot of the hand made ones that come into the shop. Unfortunately very few of them are any good for spinning. The shop owners gave me some advice to start working with because I've never spun before. Getting a grip on the control and grip of the treadle will make it second nature. Then I can spend more time on the twisting of fiber.
Unfortunately they don't carry another bobbin for the wheel, but luckily we can find one that fits. It's an Ashford. The Fold in Marengo sells those bobbins. And I may have to ask them to order me a new whorl. That'd be a good thing.
Off to make coffee and work on the treadle.
