*glances around* *peaks under the carpet* End? End? but, but...oh alright This was lovely, I love your descriptions of how the US unded up and aww poor Abby, but it really makes sense that she would be the least able to cope with the changes. Tony was absolutely perfect. i can see him just doing what needed to be done in that world and then one day glancing around wondering where this community around him had sprung up from and who was in charge and then realizing it was him. I do hope that McGee is still with Gibbs though. But yes, absoluteluy fantastic.

*grins* I really should feel more guilt about ending a story that way - because I *hate* it when authors do that - but this really was the 'fic that would never end'. I could have gone on for another 5000 words, but then it wouldn't have been done in time.

Thanks!! :)

Fantastic! The ending works really well, fits nicely with the rest. :)

So is this the beginning of something? I really hope so.

So is this the beginning of something?

Maybe. I don't know. I certainly have some ideas, but that doesn't seem to mean much at the moment.

And I'm glad the ending worked. I stumbled through most of it last night, when I realized I had to post today. Thanks for all the help. (I think I forgot to send a thank you email....sorry.)

Breakdown of civilization into survivalist groups, my favorite kind of apocalypse! Excellent and realistic -- I liked DiNozzo's observation in the beginning about mountains of Hello Kitty paraphernalia in China. Now that's scary.

I've always been a fan of the 'survivalist groups' apocalypse, myself. *g*

It has so much potential. *dreamy sigh* Have you ever read S.M. Stirling? He's a master of the genre.

No, I haven't read him. I'm just getting back in to books (too many years reading only fanfiction or bodice rippers - DON'T JUDGE ME!!) I'll definitely look him up next time I'm scouring the library/bookstore.

Once I work through the stack of books on my livingroom floor, that is. :)

Ooooh, so good!

While I would really *really* love to read more, the ending does work well

But, if you wanted to write more, that'd only be a good thing *g*

I'll see what happens - though I have plot bunnies for more. (Doesn't mean I'll write more, just that I have ideas.) *g*

This was very good. I liked the transition of Tny to leader and he seems a little thrown by that idea. i like the chracrterization of Abby being lost without Gibbs. But the end - you're kidding me ,nope, you must continue this. Just curious in your mind is McGee with Gibbs or dead?

We'll see what comes. :)
I've actually already started planning it out in my head, but I've done the same for dozens of others that don't really lead anywhere.

And in my head, McGee is alive and with Gibbs, but his well-being is still being decided.
