This has been a week from hell. I'm so glad it's Friday. Went to bed Sunday, about an inch of snow on the ground and didn't look like much would happen, woke up Monday and there were 2 feet on the ground. Drove to my parents and dropped off the baby, got stuck in their driveway and had to dig myself out. Drove to work on sold ice, no plows were out. Fortunately there were only about 6" of snow in town. Emailed customers, let my boss know about the snow since he was flying in from California on Thursday but that it shouldn't be a big deal because the temps were suppose to get up to the 40's and 50's on Wednesday and Thursday. Look at the window at 11 and we're over a foot of snow in town now. Call my house to see how much is there, only a few more inches. Scrap an area to see how fast the snow is coming down. 1.5" an hour for the next couple of hours then it went up to 3" the last hour I was at work. Sent everyone home at 2:30, 2 feet o snow in town now. I left about 3. Really had to work to get out of the parking lot, drove home on ice that's now about 4" thick because they've only bothered to plow once or twice. Have to shoot through the snow in front of my driveway that's now been pushed to over 6' tall by the plows and get stuck about 30 feet in. Walk to my parents house which is 1/4 of a mile away to pick up the baby. The shallowest area is 3' and in some places it's up to mid-thigh. Pull a muscle in my leg, soaked to mid-thigh with melting snow which freezes to ice, manage to walk back home with baby in tow. Before I left work I told everyone we would be closed the next day due to snow and setup the phones for such. The next day spend about 12 hours digging out both vehicles. Other vehicle stuck in mud that was created after a bit of the snow melted, had to jack it up and put a board under the tire, finally got the car out Wednesday morning in -10 temps. Manage to make it to work Wednesday around 11, soaked and exhausted because I had to walk the baby down to my parent's house again. Wanted to clean my office for when my boss will be here on Thursday, but came in to tons of phone messages and emails, didn't get them all done and didn't get anything else done. Thursday morning, finished my back logged work and cleaned my office. Knocked my water carafe off my desk. The damn thing exploded when it hit the ground. I had about 5 pieces of glass fly up an stab my hands. The biggest was about the size of a dime and nearly sliced my finger half off. I remove it, gush blood all over and put pressure on the cut while removing the other pieces of glass from my hands. To go get stiches or not, no time, boss to arrive in about 60 minutes. Grab a animal first aid kit from my truck and put in two stitches. Sick from the pain but okay. Amazed I didn't say anything out of the norm when it happened and I had a customer on the phone I was helping with their software. Proceed to resplit open the cut numerous times. Got stuck in my parents driveway because I was driving in when my mom was coming out and I had to back up through the snow and slid off the drive. Had to push out the truck while she drove it.  The only good thing is my boss went over my yearly review with me, 4.7 out of 5, all but two items he marked as outstanding, the other 2 are exceeds expectations so I should get a decent raise this year again.
