o.k. i decided to take a break from my studying to say something.... as you all should know, today is memorial day, i would now like to thank everyone that died in service for this country, because without them we would not be where we are today. i would like to thank everyone currently serving this country in Iraq because they have the courage to do what others don't, they go off to fight a war that has so far had more casualties than i think anyone expected. Soldiers in Iraq are dying everyday, from suicide bombers and such, and for someone to go over there, and know the chances of being killed in the line of duty, they are being incredibly courageous.
The reason i decided to write this is that i was studying for U.S. history, and i was looking over my notes on the Vietnam war. I came to the realization that in this world, there will always be a war going on, because there will always be power-hungry people who will do anything to accomplish what they want, even if it means large amounts of casualties. I think the Vietnam war was a huge mistake, because it got us nowhere, but i still respect the soldiers that died there very much. But even more i respect the veterans that did not get as much respect as they deserved after the war. Most of them suffered mental collapses after the war, and need as much praise as possible.
For anyone reading this, i hope you can take time out of your day to remember and respect our fallen soldiers, and even when memorial day is over, please take into consideration how many people are dying to try to make this world safe for you to live in. Support our Troops. Respect our Troops.
