Not attractive enough? I thought the contrary :o. I was all "but he's so prettyyyyyy and Cesare is handsome but more in the magnetic style". And bam! HE NAILS THE ROLE. I mean the confessional scene between him and Jeremy Irons where he tries to make his father change his mind about him being an ecclesiastic was so greatly played. The delievery! Gosh! That was just incredible! "We're spaniards. They hate us." lkhdjkfsgkujfgsekhfl!!!
They really all did a wonderful job and OMG Rodrigo being an irl troll and pissing every cardinal off made my day XD.

The Torture scene was sooooooooo well played. There was this very very small undertone. I love their dynamics. And if there wasn't some slashy vibes Idk!"Harder! Harder, my lord!". Oh and oh when Micheletto told Cesare how all his family coulkd be in danger and Cesare just had this lost look for a split of second and you could see how... well he's just a young boy sometimes. I read that he was Cardinal at only 17 so yeah...

The Juila/Rodrigo scene was one of the most beautifully shot scene ever. Her image between the cross was... hugh!! And the actress is incandescent. Seriously. She looks like a living painting from Boticelli or Raphael.

I could talk about this first episode AN INSANE AMOUNT OF TIMES and still be in awe with it!
