This was an interesting evening. First plus was that the new semester started tonight, and I have begun the second half of the systematic theology sequence. I got to see some people I am so fond of that I missed them terribly even for the few weeks we were off for this break. I did not spend the last half hour of the class constantly looking at my watch, telling myself how annoying it will be if the instructor runs over time, as he did most of the time last semester, because I need to get home, slam myself into bed and race out again tomorrow morning. It just dawned on my when we were introducing ourselves in class that this was the first night of my second year of seminary. Yay!
I get to sleep in in the morning, then go visit a friend who is recovering from surgery. I get to do laundry. Lots and LOTS of laundry, and start cleaning up that disaster area I call a bedroom. Sunday I will get to do some practice blackwork embroidery and/or whitework to prep for a linen shirt I want to make to wear under a cassock.
And all the while, those people I am so fond of will be carrying on without me, doing things I can not shake feeling like I SHOULD be doing, and being in classes I have been so jazzed about I can hardly stand it. I will be very glad when tomorrow is over and I can stop whimpering about what classes I will not be in.
