Dresser Rennovation day 1

Mar 12, 2008 17:49

I spent most of today stripping and scrubbing and stripping and scrubbing and sanding.
I got A LOT done today thanks to the beautiful weather. I stripped all the drawers and sanded 3/4 of the drawers. One drawer [the top one] still needs more stripping. The orange color + the grooves = quite a pain in the butt. Since I have to work tomorrow, I'll try again friday to work on the dresser. The next day I devote to this will involve stripping the dresser [minus 3 drawers] and hopefully sanding.
This weekend, if time allows I want to go to Lowe's/Home Depot and see what they have for stains. I'm leaning more towards stain than paint because I like how stain looks.

Here's pictures of my work so far:

[Left drawer is stripped and sanded; Right drawer is untouched by Ecadnac's hands]

[This drawer was just stripped, no sanding or fine-stripping]

Oh and today Jason and I are getting our new king size bed. OOH I can't wait. With the 400TC Egyptian Cotton sheets. I'm so wore out. I'm gonna get some well needed rest tonight.... AFTER we get the mattress up 2 flights of stairs. Ptth.

EDIT: I'm going to hit the tops of the drawers with the power-sander since you can still see the outline of the old hardware.
