First week of my second semester at FIT completed! I spent most of today working on our first project for Fashion Art & Design - it's a collection based on menswear from the past century. I picked 1910-1920 and this image, and the outcome of this afternoon's sketching spree has surprised me - think a little Marc Jacobs, a little last-season Dior (mostly the socks), saddle shoes and bowler hats... Basically very young and fun, which is completely opposite to what I usually do. :P I'm not too sure about the whole thing yet - I can't decide whether to love it or hate it - but I'm certainly keeping it, it's so very different and wacky. :)
We haven't talked about our term garment in Apparel Design yet, but I don't mind at all, because I have the assurance of a hand-out that says one of our options is the 1930s. OH YES.
