This is attempt #3 And I think that this time it will stick. I have a book called Unjournaling, which I'm going to use to help spur my creativity. I need to keep those juices flowing so that I can try to write my original fiction.
Today I'll start with #1 (since that seems like a good starting point).
Write a paragraph about a girl named Dot, but use no letters with dots (i, j).
She came home, her report card clutched roughly. "Mama, Mama, an A!" she called out loudly, her words proud and pleased. She'd worked hard for her marks, and they'd been well earned. She found her mother, who went about the needlework that rested in her lap, as though she'd not heard her daughter. "Mama! Look!" Dot added, resolutely, as she thrust the paper at her apparently detached mother.
"That's lovely, dear." Her mother responded; not a glance toward the document that Dot took such pleasure in. "Go play, would you, love? Your father shall be home soon."
The seven year old had become accustomed to such brushoffs, but the look of defeat was clear, and at such a young age, she already felt that she would never get through to her mother.
That was actually very hard! I couldn't 'ing' anything... And don't ask me where this came from. It's actually sort of depressing....
