Had a sudden craving for Blake's 7 tonight - it's been quite a while since I've watched/listened to any. So I stuck on Space Fall and started squealing the minute the credits started, revealing that just possibly, I've read missed a dose of Blake's 7 ... in news that will probably not surprise anybody, I still love them all (Viiiiiila ...)
The thing that will forever puzzle me though is the weird way Terry Nation changes what he is doing with Gan between two episodes. Because he is so the scary-muscle in episode 2 and then by episode 4, he's ... not. And I'm all "YOU WROTE THIS, DID YOU CHANGE YOUR MIND TWO SCRIPTS LATER?!" (answer seems to be yes ...)
I mean, it's kind of interesting regarding what you can read into it. Because Gan's putting himself in tremendous danger by acting the muscle when he has something in his head that could literally kill him for doing it. What if anybody had called his bluff? It ends up looking sort of suicidal which is interesting character-wise but I suspect not the actual intention ... (and of course they never do anything with it because fuck doing anything with Gan, of course)
Favourite line of the episode (today anyway): "An intelligent man can adapt." Yes Avon. And you do. Sort of. Oh Blake's 7, you take such pleasure in stomping on the hearts of everybody ...
