(no subject)
Today, I read Temeraire. Since I only borrowed it from the library this morning, I feel that this suggests I enjoyed the book! :D I found some of the writing a bit ... off for some reason but it really was lovely and fun. And oh, how I want to write Hornblower crossovers for it! They would be cute and epic and adorable and the idea makes me so happy. I need to find the rest of them now. I hope the library actually has them in ...
Staying on the theme of books, I forgot to mention on here that I finished The Godfather. My 76th in the Big Read! It was okay - I would never have read it if it wasn't on the Big Read but I'm quite glad that I did and it was much, much better than I expected. On the other hand, the women were awful. Seriously, just terrible. The only woman I liked, they totally ruined and they played my least favourite romance trope ever (the "If I love someone and they leave me, I only have to wait long enough for them to come back to me one day." HATE THAT.) But it was quite good and hey, I have now completed one of my New Years Resolutions - Ten books of the big Read. Go me!
I have begun listening Villette by Charlotte Bronte. Mum thought that I might not like it but I'm really enjoying it so far. Not very deep in though, but it's really quite good and I like the main character quite a lot so far - she's really rather awesome. I am doing well with using unemployment time for reading which is pleasing.
To go onto today's Buffy, I watched Dopplegangland. I LOVE Dopplegangland. The response to everyone thinking Willow is dead is so sweet! And then she's not dead and they're so happy! And Angel's double-take. And Devon hiding behind the drums and Oz's little face and oh, it's the wonderful thing and probably on my top ten of all time (certainly my top five Season Three episodes.) I like Enemies a lot too, especially THAT moment. "World's best actor." "Second best." It's a fun episode and yay, the plot has started now! I approve of there finally being plot.
(much better today. Sleepy, but better. Did some psyching of self with total unlikely scenarios which I was awesome in and it worked a bit. Plus, you know ... Temeraire was awesome!)
